welcome to Turtle’s Landing

our story

Stacy, our tasting room manager, grew up in the very house where Turtle’s Landing Winery is located. After she and Brian, our winemaker, got married, they purchased the house from her parents, and a few years later welcomed their children Kara and Dane. After the kids grew up and moved out, Turtle came into their lives. She is a toy poodle, and she quickly became the “boss”.

Stacy and Brian enjoy canoeing. Clearfield Creek has long been one of their favorites, and several years ago they cleared a spot on their property along the creek for relaxing. Early one summer, approaching that cleared spot after a day-long canoe trip from Faunce, Brian told Turtle “look for your landing, it’s coming up”. The name stuck.

Fast forward to 2020. Brian started making wine as a hobby, primarily because a favorite pastime of visiting wineries was on hiatus due to COVID-19. The wine was shared with friends, and the feedback was positive. In late 2021, they decided to move forward with opening a retail winery, and the day is finally here.
